Hospitality with a Mission
Winning important victories in a struggle to serve and eliminate homelessness while striving to protect the human rights and dignity of children and families is the Promise we endeavor to deliver. Here is a glimpse into
A Year in the Life of Family Promise Cheyenne ~~~
6,604 volunteer hours were given by our faith communities serving 4,380 hot nutritious meals and providing for 2,920 additional meals in simple lunches and breakfasts.
1,460 bed nights for children and their parents sheltering families from out of the back of a car, out of a tent, out from under a bridge, family abuse, condemned housing and from living on the streets of Cheyenne.
Families found immediate relief from crisis, consistent day care for children, gaps in community assistance identified and answered, program help for parenting skills, housing support, and Case Management to maintain long term sustainability.
Families received immediate shelter housing from the streets and multiple other families were housed in motels through the abrupt crises.
Families found employment in the community, new housing, and have food to eat every day.
School aged children were permanently enrolled in school receiving consistent education and stabilizing their lives. Our preschool students enrolled in Stride Learning Center or worked with Head Start to better prepare them for Kindergarten.
Our parents completed job training classes for new careers, found jobs, tested for job upgrades and found permanent fair wage sustaining jobs
We enriched the lives of our growing number volunteers at our hosting and supporting faith communities.
We concurrently housed two families in our Transitional House as they continue on the road to self-sustainability by learning the responsibilities of a tenant and self sustaining through unexpected changes.
We graduated families, moved families, watched families lose hope, cried, celebrated small victories, saw families receive a car, diploma, and new housing.
